Staycation Ideas for Couples for the Long Weekend
A staycation doesn’t mean that you need to be curled up on your couch all weekend binging a new show (although it can and we fully support that!) Here are some of our favorite ideas to make the most of the long Labor Day weekend.
Unplug. The biggest temptation of a staycation is to fall back into your normal routine of checking emails and scrolling through social media feeds. Treat your staycation like a real vacation and try to turn off your phone. Be present and focus on fun with your significant other or family.
Explore your city. No matter the size of your town, we bet there is a restaurant you’ve never gone to, a library you’ve never browsed, or a secret local haunt you’ve missed out on. Just because it’s a staycation, doesn’t mean you need to stay in the house. So many places to go, and only three days to explore them all.
Staycation spa-cation. A spa day at home may be just what you need to unwind from your work week. You don’t have to do anything fancy, but a warm bath, massage, and face masks might be a fun way to relax and reconnect. Not big on DIY? Check out daily deal sites like Groupon and LivingSocial for specials at local spas!
Break out your bicycles. Dust off your wheels and get outside. Just because you’re staying home for the weekend, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the great outdoors. Go for a ride to a local eatery or hit the trails in a local park.
Kick your culinary skills up a notch. The beauty of the internet means you can bring culinary masters right into your home. Try a free trial at Online Cooking School and test out a recipe you’ve always wanted to make together.
Whatever you decide to do this weekend, make sure you and your partner don’t forget to have fun.
