Best Raleigh Date Nights
U.S. News lists Raleigh, North Carolina in the top ten on its, “100 Best Places to Live in the USA.” It’s home to lots of museums and parks, a growing foodie scene and more than 25 microbreweries. Having all of these options is pretty awesome, but also makes it almost impossible to decide what to do for date night. To make things easier on you, we created a list of date night ideas and narrowed it down to five of the best Raleigh date nights.
Climb. Swing. Balance. Soar. No, it’s not the beginning of a superhero movie. It’s all of the things you and your partner will be doing at TreeRunner Adventure! With over 70 obstacles and ziplines to choose from, all with differing levels of difficulty, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss out on. You can make it even more romantic by attending TreeRunner’s Glow Night, where you’ll be able to enjoy the obstacles under the stars and the luminous glow of all of the courses. Glow Nights happen every Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Adult tickets are $44. It includes three hours of time in the park.
Beer aficionados rejoice! This is not your average beer festival. Casktoberfest has been held every October in Raleigh at Big Boss Brewing Company for seven years now. A cask ale is an unfiltered beer that is transferred into casks, carbonated, sealed and then undergoes a slight final fermentation in the cask. It’s definitely not for everyone. But if you and your significant other enjoy trying new things and experimenting with different kinds of beer, you should make a trip to Casktoberfest! Tickets are $20 and include a Casktoberfest mug. You can pre-order here.
Dine at one of Raleigh’s Best Restaurants
Named one of the, “Top 10 Tastiest Towns in the South,” by Southern Living, dinning out in Raleigh is an experience within itself. Raleigh is home to over a dozen farmers markets, which provide local restaurants with fresh meat and produce, creating a large farm-to-table culture. Eater recently released their picks for, “The 11 Hottest New Restaurants in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.” You can check it out here. The list includes a wide variety of options from Brewery Bhavana – a brewery, dim-sum restaurant, bookstore, and flower shop – all the way to Rose’s Meat Market and Sweet Shop – a bakery and butcher shop that’s been converted to offer sit-down dining.
The Lincoln Theatre
Known for its indie music scene, Raleigh’s Lincoln Theatre does not disappoint. It’s a small intimate theatre located downtown. Because of the size of the theatre, it’s hard to not get a good view of the performers, no matter where you decide to sit. If you and your significant other enjoy live music, it’s definitely worth a visit. But be sure to get there early, since seats are limited. Tickets can be purchased online or at SchoolKids Records, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. or Sunday from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
