Date Night Dinner Idea: Simple Italian Sausage and Pasta
We love our friends over at The Pasta Shoppe and we are always excited to show off some of their wonderful products! If you don’t know already, The Pasta Shoppe was founded by Carey and John after their honeymoon to Italy (no wonder we love them)! They fell in love with pasta and the Italian lifestyle and created a brand based on family, friends, and food. Today, The Pasta Shoppe creates pasta with over 250 different shapes!
We’ve been fans of John and Carey for years, but were super excited to hear about one of their latest products, “Pastably the BEST sauce Ever!“. With a product name like that, how can you not be excited!? This traditional sauce comes in a convenient microwavable pouch. I know what you’re thinking, can traditional and microwave exist in the same sentence? Umm..yes it can, and this dinner idea will prove it!
We recently partnered with the Pasta Shoppe for our “When in Rome” date box. This date sends you and your significant other on a romantic trip through the city of Rome, ending with a dinner for two. Included in each box is two servings of the Pasta Shoppe’s Tri-Color Pasta Lilies. Michelle and I had the chance to create our own romantic dinner using this pasta, the “Best Sauce Ever”, some Italian sausage, and some Parmesan cheese. That’s it! And the best part? The whole meal took about 10 minutes to make!
To start, let me just say that I am the chef in our marriage. Michelle can bake with the best of them, but when it comes to cooking, it’s usually me. Having said that, we wanted to find a fun dinner option that we can both enjoy making together. In order for that to happen, we need to find something that was simple. Of course the other end of that, we wanted to find something that is gourmet. Sure, boxed mac and cheese is fast and easy, but it’s not really “romantic”. What was great about our Simple Italian Sausage and Pasta dinner was that the taste and tradition was not at all comprised by the simplicity. In fact, we loved it! Since making the dinner was so fast and simple, it gave us more time to enjoy our romantic dinner together!
If you are looking for a fast, fun, and delicious option for your next romantic dinner. We highly suggest visiting The Pasta Shoppe. They’ve got pasta (and now sauce), recipes, and even desserts (PLEASE go try their Meringues…they are amazing)!
