Date Night Challenge: Conflicting Strips

As you wander through Madame Medora's House of Curiosities, you never know what obstacles you may face. As expert puzzle-solvers you'll need to work together. So, we’ve created a little game for you to play called “Conflicting Strips”.

Using the button below, download and print out our Conflicting Strips document. It comprises of 10 conflicting scenarios. Cut the strips out, fold them up, and place them in a cup. This game is more fun if you don’t know what the strips say, so the first page includes blank squares and the second includes the conflicts. We suggest printing with your “dual side” settings so you can cut out the strips without reading them.

Whenever you want a little spontaneity in your day, draw a strip in the morning. Each strip will give you a conflict you both must conqueror together. Some challenges will be simple and others might be a little harder. Your job is to work together to resolve them!

House of Curiosities concoction recipe

Featured Recipe: Madame Medora's Curious Concoction

For this month's recipe, we needed to find something as curious as Madame Medora - so we are bringing you this frightfully delicious matcha lemonade drink with a peculiar twist.

Madame Medora's Curious Concoction is perfect for your next spooky movie night or for your next Halloween party with friends! You're sure to be the haunt of the century!

Ingredients

Lemonade

  •  1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice

Butterfly Pea Flower Tea

Matcha

  • 2 teaspoons matcha
  • 1 cup cold water

Directions:

To make your lemonade, boil water and sugar to a boil, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer and continue stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, allow to cool, and then stir in lemon juice.

To make your butterfly pea flower tea, steep flowers in hot water for 3-5 minutes. The longer you allow flowers to steep, the darker blue your tea will be. Once done, throw away flowers and allow them to cool.

To make your matcha, mix your matcha powder and cold water well (works best if shaken in a bottle).

To assemble the drink, fill two glasses up with ice, pouring your butterfly pea flower tea about one-third of the way for each. Then, pour your lemonade in until each cup is two-thirds full. Finally, top each glass off with matcha. Stir before drinking.
